Mimi 2021 Bollywood Movie Kriti Sanon Pankaj Tripathi

Even as heartbreaking stories of surrogacy and abuse emerge each and every day, surrogacy remains another popular avenue for films to romanticize motherhood. Surrogacy is the process where a woman is artificially inseminated with sperm from an unknown male donor to increase the chances of conception. The donor is not divulged and the act is covered up by the Indian government as a charitable activity. However, the selfishness of some doctors who force their female patients to go through this process before they have the option of childbirth scares many women. Surrogacy in India has been widely criticized for causing trauma and violation of reproductive rights.

This movie revolves around the journey of Mimi who agrees to surrogacy for a foreign couple in exchange for the money as she wants to be an actress and she wants to earn this money to shot an exclusive video featuring herself. A very difficult topic indeed intelligently written to ensure the audience understands the meaning of surrogacy at first.

Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi are the key highlights of the movie. Excellent acting and comic timing take out laughter from inside without any force comedy.

Mimi Bollywood Movie Review | Kriti Sanon | Pankaj Tripathi

Although Mimi’s story is not a story based on love and romance alone. The film depicts the difficulties that a woman going through surrogacy has to go through. Mimi’s story is all about the logistics and challenges that a surrogate has to face when she finally aborts the intended surrogacy process. The Director of the film does an excellent job of depicting these issues in his film. The script is well written and directed by someone who understands the intricacies involved in scripting a script for a Bollywood blockbuster like Mimi; Rajasthan in particular.

The makers of the film do a good job of explaining how a surrogate mother needs money. This is illustrated through the various stages of preparation that take place before the surrogacy process commences. Most of the Indian surrogates are originally from countries such as India, Pakistan, and Nepal. The need for money is a big hurdle for any potential surrogate mother in those countries. Fortunately, Sanjay Leela Bhansali understood the cultural sensitivities that are involved with handling money from people who don’t speak the same language.

The makers successfully integrate elements of romance, comedy, and drama to produce an engaging melodrama that highlights the complexities of modern-day motherhood and the sacrifices that women make to nurture their children. The movie is a great example of how the best stories are told and it highlights some very timely themes. The use of Bollywood dance beats throughout the movie adds to its charm. The songs also reflect aspects of matrimony, love, and motherhood that are universal. Overall, Mimi is one of the best movies on the net that showcases the true spirit of Indian cinema.

The movie has excellent music by AR Rahman which is beautifully stitched with the visuals. The makers of the film succeed in creating an engaging and heartfelt film that explores the complex emotions of modern-day mothers. Though the subject matter is based on surrogacy, one can still relate to the storyline and the psychological underpinnings of the movie.

The movie is a fantastic example of how a talented director can make an intelligent movie using the resources of various genres and approaches. Viewers will get a fairytale ending, something that is more prevalent in Bollywood than any other genre. Overall, Mimi is a fantastic movie that every woman must-see.
